When Joseph brought his family to Egypt (at the end of Genesis), they numbered about 70 people. At the opening of Exodus, the nation of Israel had increased to several million. (a period of about 400 years).
Exodus, which is Greek, means "way out." The book of Exodus is the book of redemption in the Old Testament.
Let's share how we see God's "redemption" as we read through Exodus.

The account of Moses parting the Red Sea reminded me of a atory I heard. A Christian and Non-Christian were discussing this account. The non-beliver said that there was evidence that some kind of natural phenomenon caused the sea to be only about 1/2 foot deep, and that to him was evidence that if there is a God, He doesn't really do miracles.
The beliver responded, "I can't believe that such an amazing miracle did happen: Pharoh's entire army of chariots drowned in 6 inches of water. ;-)
God is more concerned with my OBEDIENCE than He is my qualifications to do His work.
(Reflecting on Moses feeling he was inadequate to speak to Pharoah)
